BOARD OF DIRECTORS

John McMahon

Chairman

John has industry experience across the publishing, transport and software sectors and has spent of over seventeen years in the Australasian equity markets, predominantly as an equity analyst (covering a range of industries including telecommunications, media, gaming, transport, industrials), but also as a Head of Equities, and three years as Managing Director of ASB Securities. He now manages his own investment portfolio through Sydney-based Auro Investment Management. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), an MBA and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder.

Nelson Siva

Chief Executive Officer / Director

Having qualified as an Electrical and Electronic Engineer, Nelson’s career began with an American based telecommunications company in London before moving to New Zealand in 1979. He was later appointed as Managing Director and CEO of the Asia Pacific Operations of a European based Data Communications company. Nelson’s experience includes the revitalisation of manufacturing companies through rationalisation and focused expansion into new markets. He has developed markets in Asia Pacific and Europe for technology products and services for the past 20 years. Nelson has been Chief Executive Officer of Solution Dynamics Limited since August 2006 and was appointed to the board in November 2010.

Julian Beavis

Director

Julian has led a number of technology businesses in NZ and overseas (including NCR ANZ and Teradata South Asia) and brings a track record of building successful companies in technology industries. His international Sales and Marketing experience, particularly his skills and personal network built up over years of selling and supporting complex technology based solutions, assist in plans to sell SDL’s Dejar and Bremy products to wider markets outside of NZ.

Elmar Toime

Director

Elmar Toime is an independent advisor to the postal sector based in London. He is chairman of the Postea Group, a postal technology group incorporated in 2006 and was a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post DHL, the world’s leading logistics company until May 2016. Elmar was the chief executive of New Zealand Post Limited from 1993 to 2003 and Executive Deputy Chairman of the Royal Mail Group from 2003 to 2004, a position that included roles as chairman of the management board and chairman of GLS, a European parcels group.

Elmar has been recognised with a life-time achievement award for leadership in the postal industry. He is also a non-executive director of the Qatar Postal Services Company. Born in Italy, Elmar grew up and was educated in Melbourne, Australia and has qualifications in Science and in Economics from the University of Melbourne. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management New Zealand and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, Manufactures, and Science.

Nelson Siva

Chief Executive Officer / Director

Chris Veale

Chief Financial Officer

Chris is a graduate of Auckland University (B.Com), a Chartered Accountant (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand), an MBA and Company Secretary (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators).

He has been in the role of Chief Financial Officer at Solution Dynamics Limited since 2006.  Chris has a background in accounting roles with technology and manufacturing businesses having held the senior finance role with a European Data Communications company and Moore Gallagher Limited prior to joining SDL.

Tim Reid

Business Services Manager

Tim has worked in the print and mail house industry for over 30 years, in both multi-national and locally owned businesses.  Prior to operational and executive management roles he held roles in sales and marketing.

Tim managed the establishment of the mailing and digital services operations for the Moore Corporation in New Zealand, as well as managing a number of acquisitions including Response Direct Marketing Services and Security Print, as well as the merger with Gallagher Mailing Services.  He has managed a number of large outsourcing projects such as the TBMO for Telecom and Referendum processing for the Chief Electoral Office.

Tim has also provided consulting services to mail house and digital operations in Australia.

Nick Williams

Global Solutions Manager

After 14 years with a large international printing company as developer, IT Manager and Solutions Manager for Asia Pacific, Nick moved to Ford Motor Company as IT Manager.

He went on to become GM of IT for PMP, a 1.2 billion dollar company, then joined Geon Group as CIO Australasia responsible for the Australasian IT division based in Sydney.

In 2009 he joined Bremy and was instrumental in its acquisition by Solution Dynamics. He is now Global Solutions Manager responsible for all software sales solutions.

Rather than technology focused, Nick is business outcome focused.  He effortlessly switches between deep technical discussions with IT teams to talking to non-technical business leaders about how to solve their business problems.

Hash Valabh

Technology Solutions Manager

Hash has over 25 years’ experience in the IT industry as a software developer large NZ based multi-nationals as well as SaaS and software services start-ups.

This included a European based data communications company, where Hash developed an outsourced network management offering, which he launched and ran for a number of years.

His experience in business and operations management gives him the ability to instinctively understand user requirements and put them into the context of overall business needs. His experience in software development, and his highly tuned problem solving ability, allows him to translate those requirements into innovative and effective technological solutions.

Hash now serves as Technology Solutions Manager for SDL, heading our team of software developers and Business Analysts.

Lynda Fish

Head of Sales – Asia Pacific

Lynda has over 25 years’ experience in both the UK and NZ in both software and printing industries. Her work history includes QA testing and Sales for software companies such as Tharstern and Prism. She has extensive knowledge within pre-press, print, publishing, and mailing related industries including sheet-fed, web-offset, digital and reprographic print and production processes.

Lynda originally joined SDL in 2010 as an Account Manager. Prior to this Lynda worked at Ergo Asia Limited as a procurement manager for such clients as Lion & L’Oreal buying all aspects of print and mail communication and providing cost saving solutions with critical deadlines.

Lynda currently manages a number of key accounts, including Watercare Services, Waste Management and Baycorp whilst overseeing the sales team for Asia Pacific.

Lynda is committed to her clients and ensuring they get the best service available always looking to improve processes that will create efficiencies to save her clients time and money.

Ben Monk

IT Manager

Ben has over 15 years commercial IT support experience, covering all major aspects of small, medium and enterprise IT support as well as enterprise server administration and network management / security.

His experience includes senior IT roles for Intergraph, the global leader of software for the design and operation of plants, ships and offshore facilities.

Ben manages SDL’s IT team to ensure that our cloud services are stable, secure and performing above our customers requirements.

Hamish Priest

Production Manager

Hamish has a background in offset print which began in 1995 with an apprenticeship at Moore Business Forms. He worked there for nearly 10 years establishing himself as a top grade printer.

In 2004 he moved to Leigh Mardon NZ, and worked his way through from Print Supervisor to Production Manager. There he gained skills and knowledge in different forms of printing and mailing, working with products that demanded a high level of security and integrity. He has managed some of New Zealand’s largest bulk card production, personalisation, lodgement and ongoing fulfilments.

Hamish joined SDL in 2013 and brings with him extensive mail house and print production experience. He manages a large team of highly skilled staff in all areas of digital print, mail fulfilment, film wrapping, and warehousing/logistics.

Darlene More

Customer Support Manager

Darlene has worked in the digital and offset print industry for the past 17 years, both in production and customer service management roles in small business and corporate environments both in New Zealand and Australia, managing a number of multi-million dollar contracts.

Darlene’s commitment to achieving and exceeding customer requirements, unparalleled attention to detail and her flexible “can do” attitude has seen her excel as SDL’s Customer Services Manager.

Darlene manages our customer services team, all of whom are cross-trained to ensure continuity of service for our clients.
